Welcome!

Over the course of my long career I have gone off in a variety of directions and experimented with different mediums.

My current focus is primarily landscape inspired abstraction. The work is mixed media on paper, canvas or birch panel. I have been fortunate to work with decorators and galleries on many projects for both residential and commercial clients from New York to Florida and points in-between.

I also enjoy plein air landscape painting in pastels and oil.

"Dancing in the Morning Dew"

"Dancing in the Morning Dew" Mixed Media on paper. 26" X 32" (framed). This is one of twelve works recently commissioned by CFE Credit Union, Lake Mary, Florida for their new branch on Mills Ave. in Orlando. CFE has been a tremendous supporter of local arts here in Florida. We couldn't be more pleased to have partnered with them for original art for both their corporate headquarters and a growing number of branch offices. In the last four years they have purchased over 90 original works from Kevin and I and they have already said they will need more in the fall for another branch. In thirty five years we have done some large commercial jobs in New York state, but nothing rivals the scope of this one. We are very grateful to be able to work with these wonderful folks.

The evolution of a painting

My friend Bailey here at Gallery on First suggested I post a series of photographs of a painting from rough concept through the various stages to the completed painting. I decided that I would do this for those that might be interested. The first photo is an initial "mock up". Just a quick sketch. Little more than a doodle. This helps me define where I want to go with the painting in general terms. It is by no means set in stone at this point. Changes are almost certain. The second photograph shows that I have now drawn it out larger and am beginning to apply color.

New Barn

Our new barn was this past summer's project. The barn will serve as our summer studio. Very excited to finally have a good space to work in at Dragonwood. Still more work to do before we have it finished, but we got it this far this year. The rest will have to wait until we return next summer.
Always enjoy a visit to Golden Artist Colors in New Berlin, NY.
